►Keeping Goats Healthy:
You must have a covered shelter large enough for them and their hay, food, minerals to stay dry (at least 8x8).
They should be closed in the shelter at the night to protect them from predators like coyotes.
They need a large fenced area to roam and exercise (small yards or dog kennels are not great for them).
Do NOT leave collars on them or tie them to tether rope since they will choke...very dangerous!
They will need to have their yearly shots (CDT), and deworming every few months.
They'll need their hooves trimmed about once per month to prevent thrush (hoof trimmers from feed store).
They will need to be fed hay, pellets, and minerals (pellets needed especially 1st year while they are growing).
Even with forage for them you will still need to supplement them with minerals all year and hay from August - April.
Goats are herd animals are only happy/healthy when they have at least one other goat to live with at all times.
We'll be available for questions or concerns, but if they ever need a vet then you should be willing to call a vet.
