About HOMESTEAD GOATS Olympia, WA Welcome to "Homestead Goats", our Nigerian Dwarf dairy goat farm in Olympia, Washington. It's a family farm run by 3 sisters and has about 15 miniature milk goats on a 15-acre homestead. Our goal is to raise happy, healthy, and high quality ADGA registered, Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats.
My sisters and I have been raising and showing goats for over 15 years now. Our mom has also been raising goats, & other livestock, most of her life, so she has passed on her love & knowledge of goats to my sisters and I. We all love spending time together tending to, and showing, our goats as a family. The health and happiness of our herd is very important to us, so our goats are extremely well cared for and loved. In fact, they are absolutely spoiled! They are well socialized with other animals & people because we give them so much daily love & attention. We've kept our herd healthy and free of caprine diseases such as: CAE, CL, Johnes, Q-Fever, and Brucella, by using biosecurity precautions and doing sample testing. Most recent testing of the entire herd was done on 2/2019. We've collected some of the best genetic lines from across the country and we have worked hard to continue improving the conformation and productivity of those lines. We've had great success with our Nigerians by using selective breeding, artificial insemination, and ADGA performance programs such as Linear Appraisal. We've been incredibly blessed by our family farming endeavors. Homestead farming has been a wonderful way to learn & spend time together as a family. We also enjoy helping others get started on their own homestead farming ventures, and adventures! We hope you enjoy visiting our website and we thank you for your interest in our herd. |
